Testimonials

“I first contacted Amy about my kitchen extension and general refurb of our ground floor a couple of years ago. I knew I wouldn’t have the time to spend hours trailing the internet for inspiration and more importantly I was concerned that my efforts would end up looking disjointed and not feel like my home. I needed someone who could integrate our modern extension into a period property and make it look seamless.

Having spent some time looking at different designers’ websites I didn’t feel I had found someone who had the kind of eclectic look I was trying to get.....and then I found the Greta Mae site! As soon as I saw Amy’s work on previous projects I knew I had found the person I needed to help me.

Amy is really comfortable coming in at the start of a project, when the only thing she has to work from are plans and ideas and works with these to create something really special.

I also really liked the way she has managed to create different cost models for her work as I think one of the main worries can be whether you can afford to get an interior designer’s help and whether they will be able to work within your budget.

Amy met with me before the build started and her help in thinking about lighting and breaking up the space were invaluable. The type of things that are often overlooked like what built in lighting to have, where to put switches and sockets as well as all the finishing touches like fabrics, rugs and furniture.

In an otherwise quite stressful project during a pandemic I was never worried that we were going to finish and I wouldn’t love the end product. She was always on hand to help with any questions or suggest new ideas.

I only wish I had found her before and I can’t wait to work with her again in the future. I would recommend her to anyone thinking of a new build, extension or just some new ideas.”

We decided to modernise our home this year and the living room and dining room were the first rooms on the list to sort out. As we live in a victorian terrace house, the rooms are narrow and quite dark therefore it was essential to us that we maximised the space as much as possible with the decor as we didn’t want to make any structural changes. Although we had lots of ideas we needed some guidance on whether they would work and some advice on how best to work with the space available to us. Greta-Mae were recommended to us by a friend and so we decided to get in touch for a consultation. Amy was soon in our living room providing us with some focus and ideas of her own via a pinterest board which was really useful for us to refer to after our consultation. After the session we certainly felt more confident with what look we wanted to achieve and how we were going to do it. Amy recommended many things we could do to make the space feel bigger and we are certainly going to follow through with those. Whilst this was a small project for Amy she certainly put her time into providing us with ideas and has been super helpful following the consultation which is really appreciated. We would highly recommend hiring Greta-Mae if you need some guidance on modernising your home, we will definitely use them again in the future

We sought help from greta-mae interiors before we moved into our new house. We had a few weeks between completion and needing to leave our rental so saw this as the perfect opportunity to get the bulk of the work done.
We wanted the property to reflect our taste and the furniture that we had collected over the years so Amy, from greta-mae, asked us to send her some images of the key items we had, along with a few words to summarise our style. Within a few days we had a mood board that captured what I had imagined perfectly and even after some back and forth, and a lot of patience on Amy’s part, my partner agreed to the colour scheme.
Our budget was limited and our goal was longevity - we didn’t want to go with the latest trends or something that will suit us for now, we have a 4 year old daughter so wanted something that she would be happy with now but with a few tweaks could work when she’s older.
Amy understood our needs perfectly and was more than happy to tailor the recommendations to our budget, sourcing products from a variety of places.
We’re saving up for our next big project, the kitchen, and will without a doubt be asking greta-mae for help again. For anyone thinking of giving their place an overhaul, or uplift, I would definitely say to consider greta-mae.
